Selecting a Mission Director


Contact the SU Regional Director in your area if you are interested in volunteering as a Director on a Mission Team.

In order to be successful, the SuperKids Mission needs a person or team of persons to take on the role of Mission Director. It is his or her responsibility to:

  • Select and gain permission for a mission site.
  • Select and train the Mission Team.
  • Promote the mission to area children and their families (promotional materials are provided later in this manual).
  • Coordinate the implementation of the SuperKids Mission.
  • Establish relationships with parents or guardians of the children.
  • Provide ongoing support to the Mission Team.
  • Evaluate the mission on an ongoing basis.

A strong candidate for the Mission Director’s role would have these skills:

  • A passion for sharing the Gospel with children
  • Strong leadership and people skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Training or teaching experience
  • Experience working with children
  • Understanding of the Bible and foundational Christian truths
  • Agreement with your organization’s statement of faith
